Madrasa & Orphanage in Bangladesh

Bangladesh is an under developed country. Most of the people are muslim in this country. It is uncertain how many Madrasa (School for Islamic instruction) there are in Bangladesh but there are many scattered at different locations. These schools are only for muslim kids. Some of the children in these schools are sent by parents, others are orphans. It is disheartening but true that Bangladeshi Arabic schools are very far behind modern education. The children as well as teachers have very little knowledge about modern digital technologies. Some madrasa has good quality education but most are poor. Most children in Madrasa are beaten as part of punishment and do not have access to television. Most orphans in Madrasa are often abused; often times beaten or bullied to complete chores such as helping out teachers, washing their clothes, etc. One of The reasons behind this is that the teachers themselves were once Madrasa students and many have misconceptions about the Islam religion. However, among the bad there are many good Madrasa
that teach children with love and care. My main focus on research would be the inside and outside view of madrasa education in Bangladesh. Because most of the people says madrasa education need a huge change in a good way and need to develop urgent basis. For lack of old method of teaching structure. Many children really don’t know about modern education in other medium.Madrasa is the institution specially designed for Islamic education and culture. At present, there are three systems of madrasa education in Bangladesh. Besides the traditional maktabs, mosque-based madrasa education system, the Aliya madrasa system and the Quaumi madrasa system.Aliya Madrasa is institute for higher education. This type of madrasa run according to the curriculum and syllabus framed by education board by the government. There are five stages in Aliya madrasa.
i. Ibtedayi (Primary, 5 years long)
ii. Dakhil (Secondary, 5 years long)
iii. Alim (Higher secondery, 2 years)
iv. Fazil ( Undergraduate, 2 years)
v. Kamil (Post-graduate, 2 years)

Total length of madrasa education is therefore 16 years. There are two types of alia madrasa in Bangladesh. The madrasa run by the government known as Government Alia Madrasa and the other one is approved from government are called Private Aliya Madrasa.Quaumi Madrasa free from government assistance and influence and run with the help of financial assistance from pious muslims. Quaumi madrasa also called Darse Nizami madrasa as education is imparted here on the basis of Darse Nizami curriculum. There are four current following quaumi madrasa education system:

i. Kitab or Darsiat
ii. Maktab
iii. Sahih Quran Education
iv. Hifzul Quran

Maktab is the primary level institution. There are around 70 thousand Furqania and mosque-based Maktabs in Bangladesh till 2008. Madrasahs have also been set up for teaching Quran and Quirat education correctly. Besides, many Hafezia Madrasahs have also sprung up for learning the Al-Quran.Independent Madrasa: Five basic educational trends are observed among the Madrasahs which are controlled by individuals or institutions in Bangladesh and run according to independent curricula and syllabus. These are:

i. Kindergarten Madrasa and Cadet Madrasa
ii. Short Course Madrasa
iii. Independent special nature madrasa
iv. Madrasa for higher Islamic education
v. Ahle Hadith Madrasa
